Tjungu Festival

Journey to the Heart of our Country

We had an amazing few days getting amongst the festivities at the Tjungu Festival in the NT, celebrating the best of Indigenous Culture and supporting Indigenous fashion.

A highlight of the event was watching the students from the National Indigenous Training Academy modelling Indigenous fashion labels from across the country.

The Academy provides work exposure and work experience for Indigenous youth living in remote communities in and around the Northern Territory. With no prior modelling experience, and under the mentorship of the lovely Samantha Harris, the students gave it a red hot go!

Congratulations to all the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who supported and helped make the Tjungu Festival a success. Special mention to Yatu Widders Hunt from @ausindigenousfashion for playing a huge role in weaving this magic. Great vibes, gorgeous days. See you all next year!
