In celebration of this year’s NAIDOC Week theme “Always Was, Always Will Be,” we are inviting young artists aged 6-16 years old, Australia wide to create an original artwork that shares their culture, ceremony and spiritual connection to country. The entry that best reflects the theme will receive a $500 Bundarra voucher and have their design printed as a limited edition Bundarra collection.
100% of the profits from the limited edition t-shirt sales will go to the following non-profit organizations; ALNF (Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation), Nutrition Plus & Gunawirra.
The artwork must have an underlying message of this year's NAIDOC theme “Always Was, Always Will Be," and should represent either culture, ceremony and/or spiritual connection to country. For example, the artwork can be themed around the entrant's own community totems, ancestral stories, song lines, language and dancing.
The top 5 entries with the highest number of votes, via Peoples’ Choice, will be shortlisted and reviewed by our Judging Panel. The winner will be decided by two of our renowned artists Luke Mallie, from Kuku Yalanji and Kubin Village country, and Holly Sanders, from Bundjalung country.
The entry that best reflects the theme “Always Was, Always Will Be” in their artwork and story will receive a $500 Bundarra voucher. They will also have their design printed as a limited edition Bundarra collection. The winner and their family (up to 10 people) will receive free collection products.
The winner’s artwork, artwork title, name and short blurb of their artwork will be announced across Bundarra’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The winner’s artwork, artwork title, name, age, image of themselves and quote of their artwork description will be featured on the Bundarra Blog.
Entrants must be an Australian resident between the ages of 6 - 16 years old.
The artwork must have an underlying message of this year's NAIDOC theme “Always Was, Always Will Be.”
The artwork must be hand drawn, sketched, painted on paper or canvas, or created in digital form.
The size of the artwork must be A4 (297mm x 420mm) or larger, and in portrait or landscape layout. New or existing artworks that fit the brief are welcome.
